National Srvice Scheme
The national service scheme started in Nirmala college, Muvattupuzha on 3rd Jan.1972. Our NSS unit got conducted several praise worthy activities in these years. Prof. C.J. Thomas (Professor in Commerce) was the first programme officer of the unit. There are so many activities like Mini caps, special camps, leadership camps, career guidance camps, inter collegiate, inter university camps and state level camp symposium, debate, different competitions, blood group identification camps, medical camps, AIDS awareness programme and adoption of villages are various activities taken up by our unit in the college.
Goals
• Inculcate the spirit of voluntary work among the students & teachers through sustained community interaction.
• Bring academic institutions closer the society.
• Develop a sense of social and civic responsibility.
• Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes.
• Practice national integration and social harmony.
